Abstract of BG103084
The invention relates to a bacteria reducing sulphur markedas KT7. It is of the lowest level - GC gram-positive bacteria related to the Desulffotomaculum genus capable of reducing sulphite and sulphate to sulphide and having optimum growth at temperature range between 48 and 70oC at pH between 5 and 9 and at specific conductivity of the liquid medium from 0 to 40 mS/cm. The bacteria can be applied in a method for the removal of sulphur compounds from water where the sulphur-containing water is subjected to anaerobic treatment with sulphur-reducing bacteria, with the addition of electron donor. The sulphur-containing water can be treated with washing liquid of flue gas from the desulphurization stage.11 claims
